There seems to be so much conflicting advice on what to eat and what to avoid. You try to make healthy choices, roam the grocery store aisles, dazed and confused by all the pretty packaging…all-natural, light, fortified, wholesome, organic. What do they all mean, and more importantly, do they translate to “healthy?”
100 % NATURAL:
This is the most ambiguous term of all, with no Federal Regulation around its use. Many of the products labeled “natural” are actually made from genetically modified organisms.

Each day is a new beginning, filled with endless potential. The time after waking up, but before connecting with daily demands is a magical space in your day that can change everything for the better! The pretty summer fruits are gone and the weather has gotten frosty. I know it makes you feel like eating comfort food by the fire. Just because the chunky sweaters will cover that muffin top, there is no reason to fall off the healthy eating wagon. There are plenty of tasty choices available in the winter.
If you find yourself meandering the fruit and veggie aisle of your supermarket, you are on the right track for making healthy choices! The next step is understanding how to tell if your produce is conventional (covered in pesticides), certified organic (pure) or genetically modified (part of a science experiment). Most healthy foods tell their story right on the outside of the package with a USDA seal or NON GMO Project symbol. However, fruits and vegetables are left naked with only a small sticker to tell you what you need to know.
